清人篆隸書法的成就斐然可觀，從清初以至晚清，無論在朝、在野均不乏其人，吳大澂即為晚清大家之一。吳大澂（一八三五~一九O二），字清卿，號愙齋，江蘇蘇州人。同治七年進士，官至湖南巡撫，公餘集錄《說文》未收的古文大篆，逐字詳其由來，完成《說文古籀補》一書，有功古文字研究。此幅書聯：「從善如登猶恐不及，有懷若谷能自得師」，融會小篆和金文，參變之處頗見用心。(20120409)

內容簡介（英文）

Qing achievements in seal and clerical script calligraphy were especially remarkable. From the early to late Qing, calligraphers of renown appeared both at court and among the populace, among them the late Qing master Wu Dacheng. Wu (style name Qingqing, sobriquet Kezhai), a native of Suzhou in Jiangsu, was a Presented Scholar of 1868 who rose to become Governor of Hunan. In his spare time, he gathered examples of ancient large seal script not found in the Shuowen dictionary, explaining each character’s origins. He completed the book Additions of Ancient Seal Script to Shuowen that became an invaluable aid to studying ancient characters. Combining small seal and bronze scripts in this couplet, special effort was placed where they mix. (20120409)
