內容簡介（中文）
畫幅卷尾題款「蘭水梁亯」，近人據此考證畫者應是清代福建畫家梁亨。梁亨，字迪叔，〈閩中書畫錄〉稱梁工山水、人物畫，惟傳世畫作不多見。
以考試選拔官吏的科舉制度始於隋代(605)，至明清兩朝而大備。畫卷呈現清晨時分，眾人舉火查榜的景況。懸榜處萬頭鑽動，畫中表現參加考試者，昂首專注查榜的神情。落榜者被攙扶離去的身影，細膩地傳達時人對入仕途徑的營求與應試者渴慕功名的心態。

內容簡介（英文）
At the end of this scroll is the signature “Liang Heng of Lanshui,” which modern scholarship suggests as referring to the Qing painter Liang Heng of Fujian. Liang Heng, style name Dishu, is mentioned in records as being good at landscapes and figures, but few of his works have survived. The civil service examination system for selecting officials began in the Sui dynasty and became an institution in the Ming and Qing period. This work depicts the crack of dawn, where throngs check the exam pass list by firelight. Many have gathered at the announcement board, looking for their names. Those who failed are supported as they leave dejectedly, this work exquisitely expressing the yearning for an official career and the aspirations of fame among many scholars.
