內容簡介（中文）
文徵明，原名璧，字徵明，後以字行，於是改字徵仲，別號停雲生、衡山居士，長洲（今江蘇吳縣）人，生於憲宗成化六（公元一四七○）年，死在世宗嘉靖三十八（公元一五五九）年。詩、文、書法、繪畫造詣都很深，尤以晝畫二種出名，皆為「明四家」之一。
他的畫學自沈周，惟性情謹慎，所以平素所畫多是精緻細筆著色作品，偶然也畫粗壯水墨一類，則純粹是沈周面貌，本幅便屬後一典型。

Cold Fragrance in the Snow

Wen Cheng-ming (original name Wen Pi, tzu Cheng-ming, later took Cheng-ming as his name and adopted the tzu Cheng-chung and hao Heng-shan) was a native of Suchou in Kiangsu. Accomplished as a poet, essayist, calligrapher, and painter, he earned particular fame in the latter two disciplines and is the foremost of the “Four Masters of the Ming” (the others are Shen Chou, T’ang Yin, and Ch’iu Ying). He was the pupil of Shen Chou, but there is a clear distinction between their styles, as most of Wen Cheng-ming’s paintings are executed in colors, using a fine, delicate manner. Wen also occasionally did a type of rough monochrome ink sketch in which the blunt strength more clearly shows the influence of Shen Chou. This scroll is an example of the latter type.
